Biographical Information[edit]

Marquise Liverpool was a star athlete at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ, excelling in both football and baseball. Rivals.com ranked him the seventh best high school football player in New Jersey in 2004. He signed a letter of intent to play football at Boston College, but chose professional baseball after he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 33rd round of the 2004 amateur draft.

Over portions of three seasons in the Mariners' system, Liverpool saw just 252 at bats. He batted .274, hit one home run, and stole 30 bases. He spent his final season, 2007, as a pinch runner for the single-A Everett AquaSox. The Mariners released him in July of 2007, and he decided to return his attention to football.

On July 14th, 2007, Liverpool gave a verbal committment to play college football for the Temple Owls. He is expected to be either a wide receiver or defensive back, the two positions he played in high school.
