Biographical Information[edit]
Mark Thurmond was one of the best players in the 1978 Amateur World Series. He went 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 25 innings, allowing only one unearned run. He allowed 12 hits and struck out 22 while walking 9. He led the Series in ERA and tied Braudilio Vinent and Mike Kinnunen for third in wins behind Dong-won Choi and Shigekazu Mori.
