Biographical Information[edit]

Mark Leonette began his pro career in 1983 in the Oakland A's organization. He joined the Chicago Cubs chain in 1987. The big club called him up on July 3 as a replacement for Dickie Noles, who was injured. He got to warm up once at Wrigley Field, but was sent down on July 11 before he made an appearance in a game (Scott Sanderson was activated). Leonette wore #32 while with the Cubs.

Leonette had a good year at Double-A in 1988, pitching entirely in relief, but it was his last as a pro.
