Biographical Information[edit]
Mario Valdéz hit .200/.333/.533 for Mexico in the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games; all 3 of his hits went for extra bases and Mexico won a Bronze. He also played for Mexico in the 2003 Pan American Games, when they also got a Bronze.
Through 2007, Valdéz is the last left-handed thrower to play a "right-handed position" in a major league game. On July 2, 1997, he played one inning at third base for the Chicago White Sox against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
