Biographical Information[edit]

Mario Pérez was on the Mexican national team in the 2002 Intercontinental Cup. He debuted as the DH against Panama in the opener, retired by Jorge Cortes his first time up. He hit .250/.294/.313 with two runs and three RBI in five games, trailing only Jesus Estrada for the team RBI lead. He fielded .909, playing two games apiece at 2B and 3B, part of an inning in left field and the one game at DH.
