Mario Mujica played for Sparta/Feyenoord in the 2007 Hoofdklasse, going 1-1 with a 7.50 ERA in 3 games. He fanned 12 in 12 innings but walked 10. In the Curacao league in 2009, the right-hander was 4-0 with a 1.18 ERA; his control was better with 13 walks in 47 1/3 IP and he allowed only 31 hits. He led the league in ERA, was 5th in strikeouts and tied for third in wins. He then joined the Dutch Antilles team for the 2009 Baseball World Cup.
