Biographical Information[edit]

Marcus Hanel was a bullpen catcher for the Milwaukee Brewers before stepping down in late 2020.

Prior to that position, Hanel played in the minor leagues from 1989 to 1999 for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1989-1997), Atlanta Braves (1998) and Arizona Diamondbacks (1999) systems. He played in 658 games, hitting .193 with 21 home runs and 171 RBI in 2,060 at-bats.

He was originally drafted by the Pirates in the 18th round of the 1989 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Bill Bryk.
