Biographical Information[edit]

Marco Tovar is a minor league pitcher.

Tovar debuted in 2007 with his hometown Potros de Tijuana; the 18-year-old walked 13 and allowed 16 hits and 11 runs in 11 innings. For Tijuana in '08, the young left-hander was 3-3 with a 6.02 ERA. He moved to the Broncos de Reynosa and was 2-4 with a 5.19 ERA while allowing a .343 average in 2009. With the 2010 Broncos, the 21-year-old improved significantly, going 8-4 with a 3.24 ERA. He finished fourth in the Mexican League in ERA behind Mac Suzuki, Hector Velazquez and Bob Cramer.

Tovar was on the Mexican national team that won a Silver Medal at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games.
