Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Mac Seibert was drafted in the 36th round of the 1989 amateur draft by the Detroit Tigers and played in the Tiger organization in 1989 and 1990. In 1989, he was 2-1 with a save and a 2.66 ERA in 9 games for the Bristol Tigers. He struck out 18 and allowed only 11 hits in 20 1/3 IP. In 1990, Seibert had two saves and a 3.60 ERA in 7 appearances for the Fayetteville Generals.
From 1991 to 1994, he was head coach at Jefferson Davis Community College. After that, he spent time as a scout for the Atlanta Braves, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays. In 2007 and 2008, he was the manager of the Pensacola Pelicans of the independent American Association. He was then offered a senior scouting position with the New York Mets organization. He signed John Church for them.
Seibert was bench coach of the DSL Mets 2 in 2022-2023 and FCL Mets in 2024.
