Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Luis Parra began his professional career in the Texas Rangers system at 17 years old in 2009 after being signed by scout Jesus Ovalle. He began with a 3-1 record and 2.63 ERA in 51 1/3 innings for the DSL Rangers 2. Other seasons of note include 2013, when he had a 2.68 ERA in 20 starts between the Hickory Crawdads and Myrtle Beach Pelicans and 2014, when he went 10-7 with a 4.72 ERA in 27 games (24 starts). He joined the independent ranks in 2016 after being signed and released by the Chicago Cubs, but he only pitched once for the Ottawa Champions of the Can-Am Association, allowing 6 runs in two-thirds of an inning for an ERA of 81.00.
