Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Louis Vavro played in the minor leagues from 1948 to 1951. He began his career by going 11-10 with 17 complete games and a 2.77 ERA in 27 games for the Hannibal Pilots, then he went 10-14, 4.02 between two clubs in 1949. In 1950, he was 15-6 with a 2.88 ERA in 28 games for the Aberdeen Pheasants. He wrapped up his career by going 5-6 with a 6.35 ERA in 32 games for the Wichita Falls Spudders in 1951. Overall, Vavro went 41-36 with a 3.74 ERA in 116 games.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
