Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Louis Hunt played in the minor leagues in 1905, 1908 and 1909. His first year, he went about 7-21 between the Terre Haute Hottentots and Evansville River Rats.
He later became a manager, skippering the Ohio-Indiana League's Portland club in 1907. He headed the Van Wert Buckeyes in 1908 and led the Fairmont Champions to the league finals in 1909; they lost to the Uniontown Coal Barons. He returned to lead the Champions to a 37-18, 1st-place finish in 1910.
His birth year has also been listed as 1877 and his birthplace as Fairmont, WV.[1]
