Outfielder Louie Meadows was signed as a 2nd round pick in the 1982 amateur draft by the Houston Astros and scout Carl Greene.

Meadows achieved the rare feat in 1989 by having more RBIs than hits when he acquired 10 RBI with only 9 hits.
