Biographical Information[edit]
Lou Gertenrich appeared in only three major league games but managed to play in both the nascent 1901 American League and in the 1903 National League.
He played in the Central League in 1905.
As of 1915 he was still playing professional (or semi-pro) baseball for a team led by Charles "Silk" Kavanaugh who had previously been associated with the Federal League.
He later apparently went into the candy business with the Lou Gertenrich Candy Co., and had a series of baseball cards printed, some of which are now quite rare.
