Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Lou Colombo played eight seasons in the minors. He had his best year with the Newport News Dodgers in 1947, hitting .343 with 15 home runs.
A trumpet player since he was 12 years old, Colombo became a professional musician following his baseball days and was well known in the Cape Cod jazz music scene. He died in a car accident at age 84.
