Biographical Information[edit]
Liang-Kuei Hsieh has been a player and umpire.
Hsieh played for the Taiwan national team in the 1975 Asian Championship, 1983 Asian Championship and 1983 Intercontinental Cup as a 1B-OF. He later became an umpire, working the 1999 Intercontinental Cup, 2000 Olympics, 2001 Baseball World Cup, 2002 Intercontinental Cup, 2003 Baseball World Cup, 2004 Olympics, 2005 Baseball World Cup, 2006 World Baseball Classic, 2006 Intercontinental Cup, 2007 Baseball World Cup, 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament, 2010 Asian Games (home plate ump in the Bronze Medal game), 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers (the only Asian umpire in the first two rounds) and 2015 Premier 12.
He was named IBAF Umpire of the Year in 2003.
