Biographical Information

Infielder Liam Spence is the brother of former major league pitcher Josh Spence.

He played at Central Arizona College in 2018 and 2019 and the University of Tennessee in 2020 and 2021; his slash lines were, respectively, .391/.502/.575, .326/.440/.545, 346/.462/.462 and .336/.454/.459. The Chicago Cubs took him in the 5th round of the 2021 amateur draft. He had a hit in 3 at-bats for the rookie level ACL Cubs, but managed a meager .102 mark in 49 at-bats for the High A South Bend Cubs. In a 3-game trial at Triple A, he batted .455 (5 for 11) for the Iowa Cubs.

Another brother, Nic Spence, played for the University of Cincinnati and the Melbourne Aces of the Australian Baseball League.
