Les Keiter ("The General")
Biographical Information[edit]
Les Keiter was a longtime sportscaster in Hawaii who was most famous nationally for calling a dozen championship heavyweight fights for ABC and the Mutual Broadcasting Company between 1956 and 1985 including Muhammad Ali's first title win over Sonny Liston in 1964.
Among various assignments throughout his long career, Keiter broadcast New York Giants games in the 1950's and was the radio voice of the Hawaii Islanders starting in the early 1970's.
