Leopoldo Valdés

From BR Bullpen

Leopoldo Valdés only pitched 10 games in the Cuban Serie Nacional; given his statistics, he presumably suffered a career-ending injury. He went 5-1 with a 1.83 ERA and threw four shutouts. In 59 innings, he fanned 38, walked 20 and allowed just 28 hits for a .140 opponent average. On January 7, 1968, the Habana hurler no-hit Pinar del Río. It was the first time that two no-hitters were thrown in Cuba on the same day; Jesús Pérez threw the other one.
