Leonardo Ovies was a member of the Mexican national team in the 1990 Goodwill Games and 1990 Baseball World Cup. In the latter event, he hit .400/.400/.733 and handled 15 chances error-free as Mexico's most-used center fielder (4 of their 8 games).
