Biographical Information

Leon Shade hit .343/.465/.486 in 43 plate appearances as a freshman at Rutgers. He fell to .213/.288/.245 in 2001 then hit .387/.429/.645 in 31 plate appearances as a junior and .219/.265/.219 in 32 plate appearances as a senior in 2003. He coached for the Swedish national team in the 2003 European Championship. Shade later was a physical education teacher at the middle school level.
