Leo Turner
Leo I Turner
Leo Turner served as a replacement umpire in the American League when the regular umpires staged a one-day strike on August 25, 1978. His game was at Tiger Stadium in Detroit, MI. Contrary to the vast majority of umpires who were pressed into service that day, Turner did not return at the start of the following season when the umpires went on strike again, this time for a prolonged period.
