Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Lenny Hornsby played three years of minor league baseball, which were interrupted by service in the Navy during World War II.
Debuting with the Jackson Generals, Hornsby was 8-10 with a 4.12 ERA in 1941. He split 1942 between Jackson (6-7, 5.13) and the Anniston Rams (3-5, 5.16). In 1946, he bounced between the Tallassee Indians (0-1), Clinton Blues (3-4), Leaksville-Draper-Spray Triplets (0-1) and Anniston (0-1). He had gone 20-29 in 79 minor league games, with 184 walks in 344 1/3 IP.
