Biographical Information[edit]

Lee Gum Hong pitched for the Oakland Oaks of the Pacific Coast League in 1932. He played his first game in September against the Sacramento Senators and took a 7-5 loss, which many people say was due to poor defensive work by his teammates (though most of the runs Hong allowed that day were earned). Hong only pitched in one more game for the Oaks, a few days later, also against the Senators, and took a 7-1 win. He was released by the team not long after.
