Biographical Information[edit]
Lee Dashner is the only major league player from Renault, Illinois (through 2007), although he grew up and went to school in Point Pleasant, WV. In his career, he pitched just one game for the Cleveland Naps in 1913. In the minors, among other stops, he pitched several years for the Topeka Jayhawks.
In 1912, he spent the early part of the year with the Cincinnati team of the fledgling United States Baseball League, which tried to establish itself as a third major league before going out of business in June. He, along with a few teammates, successfully sued the team's president for lost wages, and he was awarded $86.50 as a settlement. After the circuit went under, he joined the Columbia Comers of the South Atlantic League.
