Ledy Alvarez has played for the Ecuadorian national team.

In the 2022 South American Championship, the 18-year-old debuted for Ecuador. He played third and hit 6th in their opener against Argentina, laying down a sacrifice bunt and striking out against Guido Monis in a game shortened by the mercy rule. He finished the event 1-for-10 with 3 walks, steal and three runs for the third-place team, fielding .857 while playing second, short and third. His hit came off Peru's Jorge Sivirichi.
