Biographical Information[edit]
The brother of Ron Jackson, Lawrence Jackson was picked in the 10th round of the 1968 amateur draft and played two seasons in the minor leagues. He hit .204/~.387/.274 for the 1968 GCL White Sox. Employing a patient style at the plate, he was second to Steve Cooley in walks in the Gulf Coast League with 41 but also led with 66 strikeouts. He played the outfield primarily.
In 1969, Lawrence again was in the outfield for the GCL White Sox. He batted .250/~.347/.361 in 40 games and led the GCL in times hit by pitch (4).
