Biographical Information[edit]
Larry Striplin was a college coach.
Striplin played baseball, basketball and swimming and diving in college. He was head baseball and basketball coach and the first athletics director at Belmont College. He later worked for Pittsburgh Plate Glass and started his own company, the Nelson-Brantley Glass company, in 1963. He later was an owner of an aluminum company, a holding company and a manufacturing company. He was an active philanthropist, with a baseball complex, gym, scholarship fund, fitness center, performing arts center and more named in his honor. He was active in the United Way, the U.S. Olympic Committee and the College Football Hall of Fame.
