Biographical Information[edit]
Larry Miggins was the # 5 outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1952. He also appeared in one game for the Cards in 1948. A childhood friend of legendary announcer Vin Scully, Scully called called Miggins' homer run against the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1952.
A minor league slugger, Miggins had nearly 150 minor league home runs in nine seasons.
After baseball he went on to earn a master's degree and worked in the U.S. probation and parole office in Houston, TX. He also served as baseball coach for his alma mater. He was inducted into the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003.
