Biographical Information[edit]
Larry Gallagher was a replacement umpire in the American League during the umpires' strike at the start of the 1979 season.
He was a catcher for Augsburg College when they won the 1961 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. He taught and coached (baseball, basketball, volleyball, football, wrestling) in high school for over 35 years and was a long-time umpire in high school and college as well as American Legion.
