Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Landon Lassiter was drafted three times, first out of North Davidson High School in 2012 and twice out of the University of North Carolina in 2014 and 2015. In the latter year, the Chicago White Sox drafted him in the 21st round of the 2015 Amateur Draft and he played in their minor league system from 2015-2017. In 2017 he reached High-A with the Winston-Salem Dash. Overall Lassiter hit .284/.376/.383 for his minor league career.

Lassiter remained active in baseball after his playing career ended. He served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Boston College Eagles during the 2018 season. In 2019 Lassiter joined the Tampa Bay Rays as an area scout covering the Mid-Atlantic region. Two of his more prominent signings were 2020 2nd round pick Ian Seymour out of Virginia Tech University and 2022 first round pick Xavier Isaac from East Forsyth High School. Lassiter remained with the Rays until early 2023.

The Baltimore Orioles hired Lassiter in 2023 to work as a staff assistant for the Aberdeen IronBirds. The next year he became a fundamentals coach for the FCL Orioles.
