Biographical Information[edit]
Third baseman Lamar Cherry played in the Philadelphia Phillies system in 1991 and 1992 after being signed as a non-drafted free agent. After slashing .275/.374/.480 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI in 58 games for the Martinsville Phillies his first year (finishing 4th in the Appalachian League in dingers), he slumped to .237/.332/.373 with 6 home runs and 37 RBI between the Batavia Clippers and Spartanburg Phillies in 1992.
