Lázaro Santana Jr. is the son of Cuban star Lázaro Santana. Santana was 18-16 with 15 saves and a 3.34 ERA after four seasons, through 2004-2005. He had pitched 104 games (11 starts). He was 3-3 with 5 saves and a 4.32 ERA in 2005-2006, then was 1-1 with two saves in 2006-2007 and 1-0 with a 2.83 ERA in 2007-2008. He did not pitch in 2008-2009. Having pitched previously for Ciego de Ávila, he moved to Sancti Spíritus in 2009-2010 and was 6-3 with 6 saves and a 2.79 ERA. The reliever pitched 27 games in 2010-2011 with a record of 7-2, 4.63 and one save.
