Biographical Information[edit]

Kyle Waldrop debuted just a few years after another Kyle Waldrop, that one a hurler for the Minnesota Twins in the early 2010s. Waldrop is not a common surname, and there have been only two players with that name in major league history. That they also went by the same first name and debuted within a few years of each other seems to be a near statistical impossibility ... especially considering there hadn't even been another Waldrop in professional baseball since the mid-1990s (Tom Waldrop).

Waldop showed 20-20 potential in the minors, hitting 21 home runs and stealing 20 bags in 2013, but that ability never translated to the major leagues.
