Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Kyle Bartsch was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 7th round of the 2013 amateur draft out of the University of South Alabama. he began his professional career that same year with the Idaho Falls Chukars of the Pioneer League, going 2-1, 2.45 in 21 games as a reliever. he picked up 3 saves and struck out 37 opponents in 27 133 innings. After that promising start, he was promoted to the Wilmington Blue Rocks of the Carolina League in 2014, skipping a couple of levels in the process. He continued to do well, with a record of 5-5, 2.29 in 41 games, with 78 saves. He allowed 45 hits and 12 walks while accumulating 52 strikeouts in 52 innings. On November 20th of that year, he was traded to the San Diego Padres in return for OF Reymond Fuentes, a former first-round draft choice with major league experience.
