Biographical Information

Kun-young Park was a catcher who became an umpire.

Park was a second-round pick of the Samsung Lions in the 1996 KBO draft. He was 0 for 1 in 1997 in his only KBO game action as a player. In 1999, he became an umpire in the Korea Baseball Organization. He was sent down to the minors twice in 2013 due to controversial calls. Park was an umpire in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers and 2023 World Baseball Classic.
