Koji Takekiyo pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and the CPBL for 5 years combined.
Takekiyo was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the second round of the 1996 NPB draft, and he went 3-10 with a 5.78 ERA in his rookie year. He was 1-3 with a 3.60 ERA in 1998, and he only played 3 games with the big club in 1999. Takeyoshi came back and recorded a 4.70 ERA in 44 games in 2000, but he suffered from right shoulder injury and missed the next two seasons. The Marines released him after the 2002 season, and he pitched for amateur teams. Takeyoshi pitched for the Jiangsu Hopestars in 2006, and the Sinon Bulls of Taiwan signed him. He was 2-2 with a 3.63 ERA for them in 2006, and his professional career ended.
Overall, Takekiyo was 6-17 with a 4.95 ERA, struck out 119 and pitched 207 1/3 innings in 4 years in NPB.
