Biographical Information[edit]
Koichi Tamba has been a Pacific League umpire. He began his PL career in 1993 and reached 1,000 career games in 2010. He worked the All-Star Game in 2001, 2004 and 2013. He worked the Japan Series in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2015 and 2016. He also worked the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers and 2020 Olympics. A fluent English speaker, he once ejected Tuffy Rhodes for a complaint Rhodes made in English, not realizing the umpire could understand him.
