Kiss It Goodbye
Kiss It Goodbye is a book written by sportscaster and author Shelby Whitfield and published January 1, 1973. Written after Robert E. Short moved the Washington Senators to Texas to become the Texas Rangers, it was highly critical of the team, its management and its ownership. The book helped prompt the Federal Communications Commission to investigate the ethics of sports broadcasting and helped inspire regulations that required broadcasters to declare whether they were employed by a team, a league or a broadcasting firm.[1]
