Biographical Information[edit]
Kirtley Baker never had a winning season in the majors, but he did have a good ERA in 1898. He had also pitched for Toronto earlier in 1898. He is a member of the infinity club, consisting of pitchers who have an entire single-season ERA of infinity (by virtue of allowing one or more earned runs without retiring a batter), accomplishing the feat with the World Champion 1894 Baltimore Orioles. One source [citation needed] says he was traded to Boston in 1900.
