Biographical information[edit]

Infielder Kirk Aadland played one year in the Chicago Cubs chain, hitting just .113 (9 for 80) in 39 games for the GCL Cubs in 1978. Undrafted out of college, he had no extra-base hits and one RBI, but drew 26 walks for a .330 OBP, stole 7 bases in 8 tries and scored 12 runs. He fielded .968 at his primary spot, second base, and led Gulf Coast League 2B in putouts (95), errors (6, tied) and double plays (24, tied with Mike Richardt).
