Biographical Information[edit]
Kiko Garcia took over at shortstop from 8-time Gold Glove winner Mark Belanger for the Baltimore Orioles in 1979. Garcia had 8 hits, including two doubles and a triple, hitting .400 against the Pittsburgh Pirates in the World Series that year. That World Series performance was out of character for Garcia; he was from the good field/no hit mold just like Belanger as shown by his .239/.286/.323 career stat line over 10 years and 1,470 at-bats.
In 1989, Kiko Garcia played for the Orlando Juice of the Senior Professional Baseball Association. Garcia played in 14 games and batted .320.
