Biographical Information[edit]

Kevin Walsh played college ball at Rowan College at Gloucester County and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and graduated from Pine Bluff in 2015 with a degree in health and physical education/fitness. In 2019, he finished a master's degree in physical education and athletic administration from the University of Mary. After finishing college, Walsh was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 21st round of the 2015 amateur draft. He played one year with the GCL Phillies (0-1, Sv, 3.55) and spent 2016 in the independent leagues with the Southern Illinois Miners of the Frontier League, going 0-2 with six runs in four innings.

Following his playing career, Walsh joined the coaching ranks as a pitching coach for the University of Mary Marauders from 2017-2019 while also working on his master's degree. Walsh served as the interim head coach from March 15th through June 19th, 2018 after head coach Joel Barta was dismissed. In June 2019, Walsh switched jobs and became the pitching coach for the Concordia University Golden Bears in St. Paul, MN. Perhaps he thought the winters in Bismarck were too cold and needed a warmer climate!

The Milwaukee Brewers hired Walsh to be the Rocky Mountain Vibes pitching coach in 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic caused the minor league season to be cancelled.
