Biographical Information[edit]

Kevin Nicholson had 97 at-bats in the majors for the San Diego Padres in 2000, and played in the minors from 1997-2004. In 2005 and 2006, he played in independent ball.

He hit .154/.185/.192 for Team Canada in the 2001 Baseball World Cup but was named the Best Defensive Player in the tournament. In 35 chances at shortstop, he made no errors. In the 2006 Americas Qualifier for the 2008 Olympics, Nicholson batted .244/.279/.341 in 9 games for Canada. In the 2007 Baseball World Cup, the Vancouver, BC native was 7 for 14 with 3 walks, 5 doubles and a time hit by pitch as Canada's top hitter. He also had no errors at second base or shortstop.
