Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Kevin King was a 42nd-round pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1992 amateur draft. He played at the rookie-ball level for three years (1993-1995) and never advanced beyond that level. He was only 6 for 52 (all singles) with 21 strikeouts and 4 walks for the 1993 GCL Blue Jays. The next year, with the same club, he improved his batting line to .227/.289/.318 while stealing 6 bases in 6 tries. He struck out 27 times in 88 at-bats and hit his only career homer. He moved to the GCL Expos in 1995 and batted .263/.317/.342 in 14 games, going 3-for-3 in swipes. He hit .202/.270/.264 with one homer and 12 RBIs in 57 career games. The lone positive was his base-stealing, with 12 successes and only 2 times caught.
