Kevin Johnson played for the South African national team several times. He was 1 for 6 with four walks as a part-time third baseman in the 1995 Intercontinental Cup. In the 2000 Olympics, he was South Africa's starting second baseman and went 2 for 19 with nine strikeouts. He fielded .971 at second. In the 2001 Baseball World Cup, he was 1 for 13 and got hit by two pitches. He handled 15 chances error-free while starting at second again. He was 2 for 15 with two walks in the 2002 Haarlem Baseball Week.
