Biographical Information[edit]

Shortstop Kevin Ahrens was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the first round of the 2007 amateur draft.

Ahrens hit .426 with 11 homers, 43 runs and 47 RBI as a high school senior and fielded .952. He won Greater Houston player of the year honors and had a scholarship offer from Texas A&M. USA Today named him to their All-YSA high school baseball team. The Toronto Blue Jays took him with the 16th pick of the 2007 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Andy Beene and debuted with the GCL Blue Jays and was hitting .209/.333/.291 with 29 K in 86 AB after his first 26 games as a pro.
