Kent Sterner played in the Elitserien and for the Swedish national team.
In the 1993 European Championship, he was 2 for 7 with 3 walks, a hit-by-pitch and 3 runs. He had 1 putout, 7 assists and no errors while backing up Calle Skogkvist at third base for the Bronze Medalists. He split third with Ove Johansson at the 1994 Baseball World Cup and again played error-free ball (2 PO, 8 A) but struggled offensively (1 for 17, BB). He got his lone hit against Puerto Rico. In the 1995 European Championship, he went 2 for 7 with two walks, four runs and three RBI and had 2 putouts and 2 errors.
Elitserien stats prior to 2003 are unavailable online (as of April 12, 2018). In 2003, he was 8 for 26 with 7 walks and a triple for the Leksand Lumberjacks. He hit .315/.421/.389 with 23 runs in 2004, fielding .897 at the hot corner. In 2005, he was 6 for 15 with 4 doubles and a walk. He ended his career with Leksand in 2006, batting .285/.368/.367 at age 35.
