Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Kenny Brooks played for the GCL White Sox of the Chicago White Sox chain from 1968 to 1970. He was drafted by the White Sox in the 20th round of the 1968 amateur draft.

He was 3-5 with a 3.86 ERA in 11 games (8 starts) his first year; in 56 innings, he allowed just 41 hits, but had a league-leading 10 wild pitches and 49 walks (tied with Timothy Grant). He improved to 2-1, 2.25 in 12 games (1 start) in 1969, though he still walked 21 in 24 innings, then in 1970, he was 2-3, 6.64 in 13 relief appearances. In 42 innings, he allowed 50 hits and 29 walks (1.881 WHIP), while striking out 33 batters.

Overall, Brooks went 7-9 with a 4.50 ERA in 36 games (9 starts). In 122 innings, he allowed 103 hits and 99 walks, while striking out 98 batters.

Sources differ as to whether his given name is Kenny or Kenneth.
