Biographical Information[edit]

Kenjiro Maki was a first-round draftee of the Nankai Hawks in the 1965 NPB draft. He was 0-2 with a 3.86 ERA in three games as a rookie in 1966 but that was his lone appearance for Nankai outside of the minors. Moving to the Hankyu Braves in 1970, he resurfaced in 1972. He went 3-3 with a 3.25 ERA in 20 games. He was Hankyu's top hurler in the 1972 Japan Series, with 4 2/3 shutout innings, but the Braves fell to the Yomiuri Giants.

Maki allowed one run in one inning in 1973 then retired after a few more minor league seasons. He then got a job running Hankyu's team dormitory.
